Universal Sompo General Insurance Company is a unique joint venture. Allahabad Bank, Karnataka Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Dabur Investments form the Indian participation which the foreign partner is Sompo Japan Insurance. It is unique because of the count of partners and the presence of an Indian FMCG major (Dabur) participating in the insurance venture through it’s investment arm.

The large number of partners in the joint venture does give the company an added advantage as it leads to a larger distribution and access to readymade customer profiles. The company can leverage its existing relationship to grow and deliver superior customer experience.
