This is a Critical Illness Health Insurance Policy
There is no Death Benefit, Surrender or Maturity Benefit in this plan
There is a lump sum amount of money that is paid on diagnosis of any of the critical illnesses.
The premium is renewed every 5 years.
There is an initial waiting period of 90 days from the policy inception
There is a rebate for large Sum Assured in this plan.
Needs to survive for at least 30 days

The person insured needs to survive for at least 30 days after diagnosis with any of the mentioned critical illnesses for the sum assured to be paid.

Income Tax Benefit
Premiums paid towards this policy may be eligible for tax benefits as per Section 80D of Income Tax Act 1961. Tax laws are subject to change.

How it works

This plan can be take for a period of 10 to 30 years and premium needs to be paid throughout. However, once the premium amount has been determined, it remains constant for a period of at least 5 years. The premium would be renewed only after 5 years and with an approval from the IRDA

There is a waiting period of 90 days from the policy inception during which no critical illness claim is admitted. After the waiting period is over, on diagnosis of any of the mentioned 12 Critical Illnesses and on survival of 30 days after diagnosis, the entire Sum Assured is paid in a lumpsum irrespective of the amount spent on treatment. This plan is a survival benefit plan and a pure Critical Illness Health Insurance Plan and thus has no death benefit, maturity or surrender benefit.

Please note:
Minimum age is 18 years and maximum agte is 55 years. The cover starts after 90 days and you need to survive for 30 dyas contracting a critical illness to receive the benefit.Taxes including but not limited to service tax,Cess as applicable shall also be levied as notified by the.Government from time to tome.Tax laws are subject to change.

  • Person under the following cases are not covered:
  • Alcohol or drug abuse including drug taking other than prescribed by a registered and qualified medical practitioner, any actual or alleged crime committed by the Insured, wilful self inflicted injury and attempted suicide
  • Failure to seek or follow medical advice
  • Engaging in racing of any kind other than athletics or swimming
  • Any form of war, invasion, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), civil war, rebellion, riots, social disorder, insurrection, military or usurped power, or wilful participation in acts of violence
  • Radioactive contamination due to a nuclear accident
  • Any mental or functional disorder, where the definitions are:
    • Functional disorder is a disorder of physiological function having no known organic basis.
    • Mental disorder is any clinically significant behavioural or psychological syndrome characterized by the presence of distressing symptoms, impairment of functioning, or significantly increased risk of suffering death, pain, or other disability.
  • Participation in sports or pastimes of a hazardous nature including (but not limited to) parachuting, potholing, mountaineering and hot air ballooning.
  • Any condition existing prior to the Commencement Date except as stated in the Schedule.

angle down iconWhat happens if You stop paying the premium?
In this plan, if you are not able to pay the premiums within the 30 days of grace period, then the policy lapses and all benefits cease to exist. However, you can reinstate this plan within 1 year from the due date of the first unpaid premium. At the time of revival, the cost of medical examination and special tests, if any, will be borne by the Policyholder
