Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance has provided a life Insurance cover of Rs 1 crore for each athlete representing India at the Rio Olympics. Edelweiss Tokio which is also the principal sponsor of the Indian contingent at Rio Olympics, is a joint venture between the Edelweiss, a financial services company in India and Tokio Marine of Japan.
At an event, Edelweiss Financial Services Executive Director Rujan Panjwani said, “We are happy to announce that each of the athletes who will represent India in Rio Olympics will be given a life insurance cover of Rs 1 crore”
“This is the first time I have heard about such an initiative by a life insurance company in India. It is definitely encouraging”, said Manoj Aswani of MyInsuranceClub.com
